Here we are again, celebrating GERGAZ’s 6th year with annual compilation from the BEAT GARDEN series. Already in it’s fourth instalment the compilation is both a reflection of where GERGAZ is now and of it’s past releases. It comprises of 17 tracks, all rooted in beats and bass music. From start to finish it is a journey through various BPM’s, vocals and abstract sounds by some of the most forward thinking producers.

We kept things the way you like them and put together collection offering an array of efforts from across the beat and bass scene. As usually we have selected tracks we feel deserve your attention, tracks by artists we like, our residents and by those that we have discovered along the way.

Massive thank you to everyone involved, our long time supporters and of course to you, GERGAZ fans!

XLR8R.COM: Shatter Hands – Driftwood [Free Download]
As a track titled “Driftwood” probably should, this production from Danish beatmaker Shatter Hands begins with a swath of swirling, ambient tones. However, after letting listeners freely—ahem—drift for a good minute or so, “Driftwood” quickly turns into a head-nodding affair as heavily compressed, percussion-lined hip-hop rhythms and an ever-moving, low-bit rate bassline are introduced, riding just underneath the track’s fluid mass of hazy chords. Appropriately enough, Shatter Hands’ production has been selected to close out the forthcoming Beat Garden Vol. 4 compilation, a 17-track collection that is set to offer an array of efforts from across the boom-bap spectrum when it lands on January 25 via Slovakian label Gergaz.
